Welcome Fresh Air Listeners!
If you heard my interview on Fresh Air, and are visiting for the first time, welcome! (If you are a regular, welcome back, as always.)
I write often about politics and religion, but I also write about state politics in Massachusetts and make occasional forays into other matters that capture my interest. But if you are here because you are interested in my work on the religious right, here is a sample.
New York Conference on Theocracy a Big Success
I’m told that my book Eternal Hostility: The Struggle Between Theocracy and Democracy can sometimes be hard to get these days. But I know for certain that the best place to get it is here.

I just listened to it on my local NPR program stream. Terry was really giving James Kennedey a run for his money. I thought that your part of the program went quite well. I just bought a copy of your book, too.

Excellent show on Fresh Air! I learned a lot and I too just ordered the book. I am so fired up about all this religious fascism/idiocy in America. I need to educate myself so as to better debate the knuckleads that reside even up here in Blue State land.

I got a chance to hear it via its timeslot on WBUR after all, and it was great, Fred. I’m glad you’re following these people and their movement - I couldn’t stomach it, but someone has to…
Great job!

I listened to your interview with Terry Gross on FRESH AIR today and had to listen again on the PM re-run! I’ve believed for some time that the conservative right is intent on destroying the democracy our country was founded upon. I am thrilled to learn of your work, and look forward to reading your book!

As one of the ‘religious’ who has read the books you mentioned in your interview I wanted to say ‘well done’ I think you were very fair, much fairer than recent articles in Harpers. Your treatment of those you disagree with was kind. It is too bad that many people feel compelled to call names (just read the comments to this post) rather than understand the other side.
I hope to read your book soon.

Just a comment from an armchair historian, Terri Gross made a gaf that I believe deserves mention: She said that religion was written about in the Declaration of Independence.
That document was written by Deists, mentioning God and Creator, but NO-WHERE do they mention religion. The term “religion” is NOT equal to those two terms.

I have your book and have even read it. Great points. Hope you sell a lot more copies and it becomes a national best seller. The public needs to hear what you have to say.
